A horror flick scares up a first place finish this weekend at the box office.

"The Possession" is a horror film based on a "true story." That's right, somewhere in the world, someone is telling the story about a girl they knew who vomited up a gnarled ghoul hand that then ripped her face off.

"The Possession" debuted in the top spot, with nearly $18 million. The film is inspired by an account of a family a demon known as a dibbuk.
