Windchill charts getting a workout
Wed, 27 Nov 2013 14:48:52 GMT —
It's a chilly ride right into the upcoming holiday weekend when we'll finally get above the freezing mark. Today, Thanksgiving day and Black Friday will all be FRIGID!
With partly sunny skies and a few flurries flying today will be notable for the wind and the cold as highs in the lower 30's, winds from the north/northwest - gusting to 25mph, the "feels-like" temps will hover around the 20 degree mark for most of the day.
Overnight offers some partial clearing with skies becoming partly cloudy. Temps will plunge into the mid teens by daybreak and with a stiff northwestly breeze our Thanksgiving morning will feel particularly cold with windchills dipping into the low single digits at times. Expect your entire Thanksgiving day to be cold as it will be breezy, we will see some snow showers and high temps top out near 30 degrees. This Thanksgiving - an excellent one to curl up in front of the fireplace, heap the plate fool of good food a number of times and enjoy plenty of action on WNWO-TV!
Black Friday will be another cold day. In spite of plenty of sunshine and lighter winds we'll only warm-up to the freezing mark after starting in the upper teens at daybreak. Shop hard & burn some cals to stay warm!
The holiday weekend looks better with some sunshine Saturday and mid-30s, more clouds in store Sunday but milder highs getting close to 40 degrees.
I hope you're enjoying the day off today and that all arrive safely for tomorrows special day of celebration and thanks!
