Winter won't quit!

The Arctic high pressure system that delivered the weekend chill is still in play today. It will be another frigid start to the work week.

Plenty of sunshine is on tap today as skies will be mostly sunny this morning and partly cloudy this afternoon. High temps will struggle to get above the freezing mark this afternoon â?? thatâ??s nearly 20 degrees below our normal highs.

We cloud up overnight and may see a few scattered flurries and snow showers towards daybreak with overnight lows in the lower 20â??s. Scattered snow showers will rule the day tomorrow with mainly minor accumulations of less than an inch. Highs Tuesday will again be near the freezing mark.

As has been the case all winter, we get another reinforcing shot of cold air on the backside of this Clipper system. Weâ??ll start out Wednesday morning with temps in the mid-teens. Skies will be partly cloudy with high temps close to 30 degrees, more than 20 degrees below normal once again.

We will begin to turn the corner toward the end of the week as warm air blows into the region from the south in advance of Friday rain showers. Highs will be getting into the 50â??s, and by early next week, it looks like some 60 degree highs may work their way into our winter wonderland.

Bundle up. Donâ??t forget your sunglasses. A week from now perhaps all weâ??ll be doing is bragging about the historic winter weâ??ve â??weatheredâ??. Letâ??s hope this is the last of it!

Have a great day!
