Ohio State Highway Patrol, in Sandusky, are investigating a single vehicle fatal crash that killed a woman and her dog.
It happened around 2 p.m., Thursday, near the intersection of E. 2nd St. and Fulton St. in Port Clinton.
Investigators believe that a medical condition may have lead 55-year-old Stacy E. Kleinhans, of Port Clinton, to drive her mini-van off the road, hitting two traffic signs, two small trees, a trash bin and then a large tree.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, her dog was also killed in the crash.
Officials say Kleinhans was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
At this time, alcohol or drugs are not believed to be factors in the incident.
