Dashing Pacific "breaks ground" on Marina District

Over the past two decades Toledoans have watched the area of land referred to as the Marina District undergo quite a few changes.

Today, another milestone. Dashing Pacific, a Chinese investment group marked the purchase of the land and the plans to develop it with city leaders. Now we're finally here today with this project that's going to be able to move forward, said Mayor Mike Bell.

Dashing Pacific has decided to put down roots in Toledo alongside the Maumee when it purchased 69 acres back in May. We are proud and honored to become part of the family here and together we can shape our future and the city TMs future, said Jimmy Hu, a representative with Dashing Pacific. That future includes an estimated 200 million dollars which will be spent to develop the land.

Leaders preformed a traditional Chinese groundbreaking ceremony which featured the unveiling of a rock. Mayor Mike Bell with representatives from Dashing Pacific revealed the rock that symbolizes stability, friendship and commitment from investors who plan on bringing more than money to the city.

Former Mayor Carty Finkbeiner was happy to see the potential promise of the city and its land wasn't missed in translation. Despite the circumstances, Finkbeiner said paint a brighter vision for tomorrow and it TMs nice to see then people even all the way across the world have the same vision.
