A new study is providing some interesting results when it comes to diet soda and losing weight.
The study focused on people who were already drinking diet soda regularly and wanted to shed some pounds. Researchers wanted to answer the question - for this group of people, is it better for their weight loss to cut out the diet sodas too?

The study published in the journal "Obesity," looked at 300 diet soda drinkers who were put on diets and split into two groups.
The people in one of the groups could keep drinking diet soda and the others had to quit. The group that kept drinking lost an average of four additional pounds over a 12 week period.
Critics say it's because sticking to a new diet takes willpower and it's easier to do if you're not giving up something else at the same time such as soda.
