Remains found in Calif. cabin believed to be those of fugitive ex-officer

The man believed to be fugitive ex-cop Christopher Dorner never came out of a California mountain cabin, and a single shot was heard inside before the cabin was engulfed in flames, a law enforcement official told the AP.

Investigators in San Bernardino County, Calif., say they'll use forensic tests to determine whether a charred body found inside a burned-out cabin is that of Christopher Dorner, the former Los Angeles police officer accused in at least four killings.

Authorities say Dorner had barricaded himself in the cabin in Big Bear Lake Tuesday and had gotten into a shootout that killed a deputy. The cabin then caught fire.
