Another recall effort targets Michigan governor

Another effort is pending to try and recall Gov. Rick Snyder from office.

A group called Michigan Rising has an April 9 hearing in Washtenaw County, where election officials will determine if the language of the group's proposal is clear.

Supporters of recalling the Republican governor then would have to collect roughly 807,000 valid signatures to put the measure on a ballot.

An effort to recall Snyder fizzled last year, falling well short of the required signatures.

Snyder spokeswoman Geralyn Lasher says citizens will be more focused on the "positive path" set by the Snyder administration than the recall effort.

Michigan's unemployment rate fell to 8.8 percent in February, the lowest monthly mark since August 2008.
