Biden addresses economy in Maumee
Wed, 17 Sep 2008 15:26:58 GMT —
Vice presidential nominee Joe Biden is telling supporters in Ohio that it took a financial crisis on Wall Street for Republican rival John McCain to realize the economy is in trouble.
Biden started a two-day bus tour in Maumee Wednesday. Democratic supporters filled Wayne Street in support of the Obama-Biden ticket.
Biden says McCain has been late on the economy and that his silence should give voters reasons to doubt if GOP presidential nominee even cares.
The government bailed out insurance giant American International Group today, and other Wall Street insitutions appeared threatened.
Biden says the last eight years under President Bush have been damaging for the economy. Biden says electing McCain would be the same as giving Bush another term in the White House.
