Another poll shows Republican Rob Portman with a comfortable lead in the race for Ohio's open U.S. Senate seat.
The poll released Wednesday by Quinnipiac University shows Portman is out in front of Democratic Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher by a 55-36 lead.
The results are almost identical to a poll the university released just over two weeks ago.
The poll also shows that more of those surveyed want Republicans to take control of the Senate. The GOP needs 10 seats to do that.
Other polls in recent weeks have shown Portman with a double digit lead.
The Quinnipiac survey of 1,025 likely Ohio voters was taken Sept. 29 to Oct. 3. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
