An explosive article in the Toledo Blade last week raised serious questions about certain procedures and practices in the city of Toledo's Department of Neighborhoods. The article specifically called into question the process of revealing sealed bids and pointed out several instances in which a contract was not awarded to the lowest bidder. Toledo city councilman Joe McNamara was one of several members to call for a hearing. "Their integrity has been called into question by the examination by the Blade and that is why there needs to be some sort of investigation," Mr. McNamara said.
The hearing is scheduled for 3 p.m. inside the City Council chambers on the first floor of One Government Center. The meeting is open to the public.
