AVON, Ohio- The BGSU baseball team saw its season come to a close on Thursday morning, suffering a 7-4 defeat at the hands of the Western Michigan Broncos in the MAC Tournament. With the loss, the Falcons finish the season with an overall record of 25-27.

BGSU shot itself in the foot in the early going, as the Falcons surrendered three runs in the first two innings. Helped by two defensive errors, Western Michigan was able to jump out to a 3-0 lead in the first two frames.

The Falcons did all of their damage in the home half of the fourth, as Patrick Lancaster led off the inning with a liner to right field which went for a two-base error. A Brandon Howard single through the right side of the infield would score Lancaster from second.

Bowling Green added three more runs to take a 4-3 lead that would lead them into the ninth, but the Falcons bullpen was unable to finish things out. Two pitchers combined to allow three singles and two hit batters in the inning. Western Michigan took full advantage, scoring four runs to take a 7-4 lead.
