Falcons slayed by Drexel Dragons

BGSU Chrissy Steffen led the Falcons with 14 points

The Bowling Green Falcons post season run came to an end as the team lost to the Drexel Dragons 50-47 in the third round of the WNIT tournament at the Stroh Center Thursday night.

The Dragons started the game off strong, leading by as much as eight points just five minutes into the game. It was then BGSU senior Chrissy Steffen provided a spark midway through the first half. BGSU led by as much six points in the first half but went into half time with just a two point lead, 25-23.

Back and forth went the score in the second half. BGSU junior Alexis Rogers battled to help the Falcons keep their lead in the last five minutes of the game. It was then at the end of the game, Drexel's Hollie Mershon took over scoring nine of her 19 points in the last three minutes of the game. Mershon made two free throws with five seconds left to play to help seal the 50-47 victory for the Dragons.

Chrissy Steffen led BGSU with 14 points while Alexis Rogers finished with 12.

The Falcons finished their season with a 24-11 record.
