All four Toledo and Bowling Green basketball teams were in action on Saturday afternoon and all four came away winners.
Senior Courtney Ingersoll poured in 15 of her team high 18 points in the first half vs Western Michigan and the Lady Rockets cruised to a 76-50 win. It was the 10th win in a row for the midnight blue and gold. SophomoreAndola Dortch and junior Lecretia Smith rounded out the Rockets in double figures with 17 and 12, respecitvely.
Saturday's game was also the fourth annual "Rockets for the Cure" game, in which the players wore pink jerseys and proceeds benefited the northwest Ohio chapter of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
It was Bracket Buster Saturday for the men as they both played teams out of conference. Senior Scott Thomas had career bests of 28 points and eight 3-pointers to lead the Falcons to a 73-60 victory over visiting Morehead State. The eight 3-pointers were one shy of the school record. Senior Dee Brown added 19.
The UT men visited Sam Houston State and came away with a 59-58 win.
Down in Findlay, the Oilers defeated Ferris State,74-69. Kyle Caiola had 25 for Findlay, Central Catholic alum Drew Lehman scored seven for the visiting Bulldogs.
