Ohio State holds media day / Craft speaks in Fremont

It was a busy day for Ohio State athletes.

In Columbus, the football team held their annual media day. Northwest Ohio was well represented as freshmen Derjuan Gambrell (Rogers) and Kenny Hayes (Whitmer) wore scarlet and gray for the first time. Returning to the Buckeyes were offensive linemen Jack Mewhort (St. John's) and Ben St. John (Woodmore). It was also the first media day for Luke Fickell as interim head coach. Fickell looks forward to starting the season on September 3rd and getting the focus back on football.

In Fremont, Ohio State basketball point guard and LIberty-Benton alum Aaron Craft was the featured speaker at the Leadership Recognition Dinner.

The dinner, held at the Fremont American Legion, honored 44 student/athletes from 12 area schools for their leadership and character both on and off the athletic field. The event was put on by Memorial Hospital's Physical Medicine department. Craft, currently a sophomore, plans to pursue a career in medicine.
