Behind three workhorses the Toledo Rockets took down Miami(OH) in their annual homecoming game 49-28.
Morgan Williams, David Fluellen and Adonis Thomas combined for 238 rushing yards. Fluellen scored the game's first touchdown, a seven yard run that came just a few plays after a 34 yard run.
The next drive it was Williams' turn. The senior took a direct snap in from two yards out to give Toledo a 14-0 lead. It was the first of two touchdowns on the night for him.
Then their was Thomas. Seeing his first action since breaking his arm against Syracuse on September 24th, the 5-10 185lb senior had a 67 yard run in the 1st quarter that set up his three yard touchdown run a few plays later.
The defense also stepped up big. In the second quarter UT laid the pressure on Miami quarterback Zac Dysert forcing him to fumble. The ball then bounced up into the hands of Robert Bell who took it 55 yards for the score.
Next up is a Tuesday night showdown on November 1st with Northern Illinois visiting the Glass Bowl.
