The University of Toledo held the first annual Rockets for the Cure game at Savage Arena Sunday afternoon.
The Rockets women held on for a hard-fought victory against Kent State and remain in second place in the MAC West.
Freshman Naama Shafir led UT with 13 points, seven rebounds and four steals. She hit a game-winning jumper from beyond the top of the key with under 10 seconds left in regulation.
UT moves to 14-10 overall and 8-3 in the Mid-American Conference. The Rockets remain in a tie with Northern Illinois, one game behind Ball State.
