It was a packed house at Savage Arena on Saturday afternoon as the Lady Rockets, who had lost 12 previous games straight to the Lady Falcons, snapped their losing streak.
Bowling Green (17-5, 7-1 MAC) dominated early in the game and took a six point lead into halftime.
UT head coach Tricia Cullop, rallied her back onto the court for the second half where they stormed back with big three-pointers and lots of hussle. Jessica Williams hit a three-ball to give the Rockets a two point lead late in the game. Sophomore Naama Shafir then put UT up 64-63 with what would prove to be the game-winning score. Junior Melissa Goodal followed up with a layup to put the Rockets up by three.
In the last seconds of the outing, the Falcons' Tracy Pontius put up a desperation three-pointer that was off the mark, sealing the win for the Rockets.
Fans stormed the court for the Lady Rockets' first win against rival Bowling Green in 12 outings.
Toledo improved to 17-4 overall and 7-1 in the MAC.
UT senior Tanika Mays finished with a game-high 20 points.
It was a Mid-American Conference record crowd at Savage Arena with just under 6,00 fans in attendance.
