Cardinal Stritch spoils Woodward's home opener

The Cardinal Stritch Cardinals defeated the Woodward Polars Bears 12-8, scoring a late touchdown in the fourth quarter to spoil Woodward's first game at their new field.

The two teams traded turnovers in the first half, with the Polar Bears' defense coming up with two big takeaways with the Cardinals driving inside the red zone. They took an 8-0 lead into halftime.

But Woodward's first home field advantage in years wasn't enough to overcome the Cardinals, who came out on top in a gritty game by both teams.
