The Lake Flyers' football team is getting a little help from some of the pros.
The Cleveland Browns and Under Armor have teamed up to donate football equipment to the Lake High School football team after their school building and football field were destroyed by a tornado in early June.
A representative from the Browns met with Lake school officials several weeks ago to discuss how the NFL could help with the Millbury school's recovery effort.
Several Browns players, with endorsement agreements with Under Armor, have donated shirts and shoes to the Lake football team. The team will also take the field at the Browns' pre-season game against the St. Louis Rams in August, for pre-game ceremonies. The Lake Flyers football team will hold the American flag during the playing of the National Anthem. The Browns organization donated 100 tickets to the game to Lake Local schools. The tickets will be distributed to Lake's football players, coaches and their families.
High school officials also say the Browns are considering funding some of the school's uninsured needs, including new locker rooms, storage facilities and visitors' bleachers.
