The Toledo Mud Hens kicked off an eight-game home stand by defeating the Charlotte Knights 4-2 Thursday night at Fifth Third Field.
Toledo's LHP Casey Crosby took the hill for his sixth start of the season. Crosby started off the game a little shaky, giving up three walks and one earned run. Crosby would finish five innings pitched giving up two earned runs on five hits while walking five Knights and striking out seven.
The Hens came through in the bottom of the second to get Crosby back the lead. Jordan Lennerton got things going with a leadoff single to right. Few batters later, Bryan Holaday doubled to the corner in left field to bring in Lennerton and tied the game up 1-1. Argenis Diaz scored Toledo's second run with a groundout RBI in the same inning to give the Hens 2-1 lead.
Charlotte would tie the game up at 2-2 in the top of the fourth, but in the seventh Danny Dorn crushed his fifth home run of the season to put the Hens up 3-2. Later same inning, Quintin Berry would bring in the insurance run with a groundout RBI to make it 4-2 Mud Hens.
