Local NFL star to host free camps for kids
Tue, 08 Jun 2010 18:52:12 GMT —
NFL punter Brandon Fields is giving area kids the chance to compete against his pro football buddies during a weekend of free camps this June.
The St. John's Jesuit alum, and current Miami Dolphin, will host free football, cheer, basketball and golf camps, Friday and Saturday, June 25-26 during the Brandon Fields Youth Sports Festival at his Toledo alma mater.
Fields says the weekend events are his opportunity to give back to the kids in the community. His sports festival will focus on encouraging area students to work hard on the field and in the classroom, while staying physically active and saying no to drugs.
The non-contact clinics and weekend events are open to all kids regardless of football experience
The Dolphins punter will be joined by the Flying Colors Sports National Staff, including Greg Benton, and fellow NFL players.
Events will take place at St. John's Jesuit, 5901 Airport Hwy., and include Kickoff Social & NFL Amazing Race with the Pros, Free Football & Cheer camps, and Free Basketball & Golf camps. There will also be a Ping Pong Party with the Pros event held at the Maumee SportsMall on Saturday. All participants will have the opportunity to meet NFL celebrities!
