Mud Hens hold off late surge by Buffalo Bisons

The Toledo Mud Hens defeated the Bisons 4-3 at Fifth Third Field Saturday night.

Avisail Garcia got things going for the Mud Hens with a solo home run off the first pitch to center field for an early 1-0 lead. Buffalo tied things up as Moises Sierra drove in a run with a single in the third.

The Mud Hens took the lead for good in the bottom of the third when Danny Dorn singled, scoring Jordan Lennerton and Nick Castellanos. Ben Guez added another run in the fifth with an RBI single to give Toledo a 4-1 lead.

Buffalo's Ryan Goins made the game interesting with a two-run home run off Jose Valverde in the ninth which cut the Bisons' deficit to one run. Valverde was able to finish the game and notch his sixth save while with Toledo.
