NASCAR crews getting ready for weekend series at Michigan International Speedway

NASCAR drivers are revved up for Sprint Cup and Nationwide series at Michigan International Speedway this weekend.

Carl Edwards captured the Coors Light Pole Award during the Sprint Cup qualifiers on Friday. Edwards posted the quickest qualifying lap with 35.564 seconds at 202.452 mph. The race winner has started from the pole 16 times, the most productive starting position. This is Edwards' 12th pole in 316 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races and with this pole, he earns a spot in the 2014 Sprint Unlimited.

The first 13 drivers for the Quicken Loans 400 all averaged more than 200 mph during the qualifying rounds Friday. Kurt Busch placed second and Kasey Kahne finished third in Friday's qualifiers.

The NASCAR Nationwide Series Alliance Truck Parts 250 will take place Saturday while the Sprint Cup Series Quicken Loans 400 will be Sunday at Michigan International Speedway.
