Jennifer Roos was formally introduced as the new women's basketball coach at Bowling Green State University on Tuesday morning.
"My passion and loyalty to BGSU is undeniable," said Roos. "Leading this team, I will continue the relentless pursuit of excellence and surround myself with others who share that same passion and vision."
Roos came to BG as an assistant under Curt Miller in 2001 and was later promoted to associate head coach.
Her former boss taking to Twitter with his comments:
"Had tears in my eyes watching Jennifer Roos's press conference. I am so happy for her & the Falcons. She will be a rock star at BGSU!"
The players learned of the hiring late Monday night at a special team meeting.
"We were all very excited to find out the news that she was our head coach," said BG junior guard Chrissy Steffen. "We all literally jumped up and hugged her."
Ross starts her career with a 2-0 record as Falcons head coach.
She filled in for Miller for two games after he suffered a stroke in January.
