The Lady Rams' future looks to be bright and tall
The Rogers Lady Rams look a lot different this summer. The team's core four players graduated and signed to play at Division I schools. That leaves Head Coach Lamar Smith looking toward the future.
The future is bright for at least one girl playing with the Lady Rams varsity team this summer. Madison Davis is a rising 8th grader, but Smith says that if the rules allowed it, she could play on his varsity team right now.
"She kind of reminds you of a Natasha Howard," Smith said. "She's going to be tall, she can handle the ball, shoot inside and outside, and that's very rare at her young age."
Davis can't suit up for Rogers' varsity team yet, but she is looking to play for the Junior Rams, Rogers' junior high school team.
"They just let me go," Davis said. "It's a great program and all of their girls go to good colleges."
