The Detroit Tigers are suffering injuries at the exact wrong time.
Starting pitcher, Max Scherzer and outfielder, Quentin Berry, both left Tuesday nights game early.
Scherzer left after just 44 pitches and two innings of work with a tired shoulder. He is scheduled for an MRI.
In the seventh inning Berry left after diving for a fly ball with a right shoulder bruise, x-rays were negative.
The Tigers are in need of a winning streak of their own and a losing streak by the White Sox in order to win the American League Central. After Tuesday nights games the Tigers trail the Sox by three games.
