Two Ohio runners win 38th annual Glass City Marathon

Men's marathon winner Geoffrey Kiprotich turns a corner during the last leg of the Glass City Marathon.

TOLEDO, OH- Kenya native Geoffrey Kiprotich was the first male to cross the finish line in the 38th annual Glass City Marathon. The 35 year-old finished with a time of 2:24:02. Since coming to the United States in 2008, Kiprotich has won six marathons. The long-time runner has lived in Toledo for three years.

The first female to finish the 26.2 mile course was Katie Kay from Fairview Park, Ohio. She finished in 2:56:27. The mother of three began running in 2010 after the birth of her third child. This is her first Glass City Marathon victory.
