While the University of Toledo men's basketball team chalked up another win, their former coach is back on the bench.
The Rockets knocked off UNC-Wilmington on Wednesday night, 75-73.
Junior guard Dominique Buckley scored 10 straight points in the second half, en route to a career-high 21 points.
UT has won five in a row and is 5-1, their best start in the last five years.
Stan Joplin was the Rockets coach back then and now, he's ready to get back into coaching.
Joplin will make his debut as head coach of the Springfield High School Blue Devils next week.
He says he's been offered a number of jobs since he was fired from UT in 2008 but the Springfield job is a good fit.
"I had a great situation going into administration," Joplin said. "I didn't have to relocate so, I think I'm very fortunate."
Joplin and his wife LaDonna have lived in the area for years and son Aaron is at UT, while Shaun is at BGSU.
As for the difference between coaching in high school compared to college, Joplin says there isn't much.
"Coaching is coaching," said Joplin. "You still have to work with the kids and try to get them to be the best possible players they can [be]."
Joplin and the Devils will tip-off the season at home Tuesday night against Eastwood.
