Baseball and Track Districts finish in style

Local teams and athletes were looking to keep their hopes alive of being the best in the state at what they do. In baseball at the first District I final , Maumee took on Ashland at Bowling Green. The Panthers would go up 8-1 in the game, only to see that lead vanish and eventually fall to Ashland by a score of 11-8.

In the other Division I final, Clay was up against Southview at Mercy Field. Southview scored first to go up 1-0 but the Eagles would get two in the third and two in the seventh to seal a 5-2 victory. Clay now plays Ashland in Regionals next week.

Division II was Defiance versus Sandusky Perkins at Memorial Field at Archbold High School. After jumping out to a 5-0 lead thanks to some good base running, the Bulldogs hold on to win 5-2.

The Division I Track and Field District Tournament was at St. Francis High School. Big names like Chris Wormley, Jody Webb, and Brianna Scott-Glover were in action, looking to advance to Regionals in Amherst next week.
