Whitmer Panthers look to pounce into history

Whitmer's Quarterback Nick Holley hopes to lead the team into the history books

The undefeated Whitmer Panthers will play for the Division I state football championship Saturday night and will face the seven-time state champs, Cincinnati Moeller.

Moeller has a 7-0 edge in series against Whitmer, but the two teams haven't played against each other since 1993.

Whitmer reaches its first state championship game in school history by crushing seventh-ranked Mentor last Saturday. The Panthers are trying not to get overwhelmed with the excitment surrounding the game. The team is trying to treat this game just like any other game this season.
