Bowling Green State University suspends two football players for violating code of conduct
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (WNWO) —
Two BGSU football players are no longer part of the Falcons football team.
The university has issued a statement on Friday indicating BGSU Police have charged Dirion Hutchins, a Bowling Green State University student and member of the football team, with telecommunications fraud, theft and prohibited acts.
The three charges, all felonies, are the result of a police investigation which began after the University discovered irregular charges on debit card accounts designated for athletic book scholarships.
Another football player Armani Posey was was charged in June.
He was found guilty in Bowling Green Municipal Court on July 9 of unauthorized use of property and ordered to pay the University $2,000 in restitution.
Both may also be held accountable under the student code of conduct.
The University will be reviewing its procedures and practices for securing and ensuring proper use of B-G-S-U debit cards.
The University states no further comment is being made pending continued investigation bu university police .
