80th Strawberry Festival continues to be Father's Day weekend tradition in Holland

Community Homecoming Corporation's Gary Leasure enjoys some ribs and strawberries at Wednesday's festivities (WNWO - Kaleb Grine).

It's a Father's Day Weekend tradition, and it's back again for the 80th year.

Holland's Strawberry Festival began Wednesday at Community Homecoming Park and will last all the way until Father's Day, this Sunday.

Every year they do something new.

This year, the festival is giving away one boy's and one girl's bike every night at 8 p.m.

Wednesday alone, they went through 40 carts of strawberries in three hours.

"We're down. We are selling them, at two and a half hours, we're really going through the berries tonight. It's a beautiful night. I think everybody will come out. They wanna enjoy the berries," said Community Homecoming Corporation's Gary Leasure.

The hit car show and rib eating contest will take place Saturday.
