Apply to be a recipient charity for the 2019 Marathon Classic
SYLANIA, Ohio (WNWO)-- It's about golf, but it's all about giving. Since its inception the Marathon Classic golf tournament has contributed more than 10 million to charitable organizations.
These groups, all benefiting local kids, together make up more than 200 volunteers for the tournament.
There are 17 groups on the list this year, including the Anthony Wayne high School Marching Generals.
They say the $5,000 will be used towards informs, private lesson and other fees.
Groups receive anywhere from 5 to 50,000 dollars depending on what they're funding.
"This is a great way that we can give back to the community," said Heather Warga volunteer coordinator., also noting that all this year's charities are form Northwest Ohio .
Currently applications for next year's charities are open for 2019.
The Deadline to submit an application August 31st, 2019.
