Box Out Hunger with the Cherry Street Mission Ministries

Cherry Street Mission Ministries is holding its 8th annual Box Out Hunger campaign on Saturday, Nov. 18th.

Cherry Street Mission Ministries helps provide food daily for the Lucas county community, but once a year that they want families to be able to gather and celebrate around one large meal. The ministry is holding their 8th annual Box Out Hunger campaign on Saturday, Nov. 18th.

2,000 warm Thanksgiving meals will be boxed and delivered to neighbors in need. The community can support the cause in a variety of ways. A $25 donation will feed a family of eight an entire Thanksgiving meal with all of the fixings. Volunteers are also needed on the day of the event to package and deliver the meals throughout the community from one of four assembly sites:

  • University of Toledo
  • Wayman-Palmer YMCA
  • Emmanuel Christian School
  • Pearson Metropark

On the morning of Thanksgiving people can still participate by meeting at the Real Seafood Company to deliver another thousand meals to the surrounding community.
