Congresswoman Mary Kaptur to be recognized for her longevity

Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) will be honored in two separate events Wednesday as she reaches the milestone of becoming the longest-serving woman in the history of the U.S. House of Representatives.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Paul Ryan and Democratic Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi will speak on the House floor honoring Rep. Kaptur.

At 3:00 p.m., Democratic Leader Pelosi will host an event honoring Rep. Kaptur with a variety of special guests in the Rayburn Room in the United States Capitol.

Rep. Kaptur is surpassing the record currently held by Congresswoman Edith Nourse Rogers (R-MA)
