First Wednesdays with Wade event draws big crowd

Mayor Wade Kapzukiewicz hosted his first Wednesdays with Wade event at the Heatherdowns Public Library Branch (WNWO).

Toledo's mayor started a new monthly event Wednesday, giving people a chance to ask questions about the city.

Wade Kapszukiewicz held "Wednesdays with Wade" at the Heatherdowns Library Branch.

He, along with TPD Chief George Kral, held an open public discussion on everything from officers to streets and potholes.

Groups then split up and brainstormed new ideas for the city.

Judy Meeks moved to Toledo a couple years ago, and loved this new concept.

"I think it's a wonderful idea. As a retired teacher, I think to educate the public is very important. To listen and communicate with the community is very important."

If you missed Wednesday, but still want to get involved in the event, they're held every first Wednesday of the month at a different library branch throughout the city.
