BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — To make sure everyone gets home safe at the end of the New Year's celebration, Wood County Safe Communities will be offering a free ride home to absolutely anyone within a ten-mile radius of downtown Bowling Green.
Their goal is to prevent any OVI arrests or alcohol related crashes, a goal they were able to achieve last year.
To use the service, you can call 419-823-7765, which is listed on the table tents at the bars or speak with a bartender.
Although the service will pick you up anywhere, there's only one destination they're willing to take you.
"We're not going to pick you up from home and take you to a bar. We're going to take you from wherever you are drinking and take you home, make sure you make it home safe," said Safe Communities of Wood County, Ohio coordinator Sandy Wiechman.
The rides will start around 11 p.m. on New Year's eve and will go for as long as they need to get everyone home safe, usually around 4 a.m.
