Gateway Project officially unveiled in Downtown Toledo
Visitors to Downtown Toledo are now going to be greeted with the completed Toledo Gateway Project.
If you enter from the Anthony Wayne Trail or I-75, drivers will see the nearly 50 foot tall sculpture, that features several aspects of what has made Toledo grow.
This includes colorful glass at the top and railroad lines on the ground.
Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz says the project is nearly a decade in the works.
"It's all come together in what is really a wonderful greeting, a wonderful gateway into our city, something that celebrates our heritage, but also beautifies an important part of our town."
The art project cost $628,000 and came directly from Toledo's One Percent for Art Program.
