Local businesses optimistic about new tax proposal
House republicans unveiled their tax proposal today.
It would permanently lower the corporate tax rate to 20-percent.
And limit the home interest deduction to loans up to $500,000.
The bill also increases deductions for individuals and households and increase the child tax credit to $1,600.
Some local business owners.. are optimistic about the potential changes.
Bear Arms Tactical in Perrysburg is a local gun shop opened two years ago across from Levis Commons.
It's a family owned business with six full-time employees.
The store manager says it would positively affect their company and allow it to re-invest in the employees.
"We would save about 15 percent, we would put it back into our employees, back into inventory, back into the things that make our business what it is," said store manager Drew Fancher.
