Look good, feel better...UT Health hosts program for women battling cancer

Women got the opportunity to learn how to take care of their skin and hair while battling cancer on Monday night (WNWO).

University of Toledo Health hosted Look Good Feel Better: Helping Women with Cancer in order to educate women dealing with hair loss and skin changes from chemotherapy and radiation.

They learned specific techniques to help with wigs, dry skin and more.

"Changing your overall attitude and dimeanor really does affect how your treatment goes, at least I believe that. Having a positive outlook can really change things around. If you feel good on the inside, then it will absolutely affect how your day goes. That's kind of the whole premise of this program," said Licensed Cosmetologist Sara Colombo.

The American Cancer Society hosts these free events periodically, and if you are interested in participating, register at 1-800-227-2345.
