Lucas Co. Makes Progress in Poverty Fight
The number of people living in poverty in Lucas County is falling, but is still well above the state average.
A new report by the Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies (OACAA) shows 19.5% of Lucas County residents lived at or below the federal poverty line in 2015.
That’s down from the 2013 number of 21.6%.
But that’s much higher than the state average of 14.8%.
Wood and Fulton Counties fared a bit better – at 11.7% and 8.5% respectively.
