Lucas County health ranking is on the rise
A new report released today is indicating Lucas County health rankings are moving up.
According to the ninth annual County Health Rankings, In 2017, Lucas County was ranked 69th out of 88 counties.
The areas of improvement within the last year include clinical care, physical environments and quality of life.
The rankings signify good health is influenced by many factors beyond medical care including housing, education, jobs, access to healthy foods and more.
These rankings reveal the overall health of nearly every county in the nation.
It allows each state to see how people from one county to another compare on a range of factors.
Every county in the state is ranked on:
• Health outcomes (how healthy we are)
• Health factors (how healthy we can be)
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute (UWPHI) conducted the survey.
