March for Science: Toledo

In a celebration of science, NBC 24's Meteorologist Kimberly Newman joined several hundred others in a March for Science Saturday.

Marching as one of 600 cities worldwide, Toledo residents rallied in support of informed advocacy, community building, and accessible education.

After a chilly trek from International Park, across the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial bridge, to the Imagination Station, adults and children alike learned from teach-in’s set up by local education partners, including Newman.

Participants extracted their own DNA, mapped out their brain waves, and spun up a few tornadoes, all as a way to prove the importance of science.
