Maumee Valley Country Day basketball coaches file lawsuit against parents

Four parents were named in the lawsuit from Maumee Valley Country Day coaches (WNWO).

Four varsity basketball coaches at Maumee Valley Country Day High School, including the athletic director/head coach, are suing four parents of slander and libel.

Court documents show this all started over a disagreement about how often their kids were playing.

The coaches say parents accused them of a lot of things, including using drugs and having a criminal past.

There was an investigation into an anonymous email criticizing the coaches before the lawsuit.

"We have no doubt that we can prove who sent it. There was more than one contributor to that, and we believe they're all defendants in this action," said Attorney Bob Bahret.

The lawsuit is seeking more than 25-thousand dollars in damages.
