NAPOLEON, Ohio — Wednesday night at Napoleon High School, officers and firefighters squared off on the basketball court to raise money for Micah Plata.
Micah is 7-months-old with a rare genetic disorder known as Apert Syndrome. He will face dozens of surgeries for the first few year's of his life.
Micah's mother and father expressed their graditude Wednesday evening and said when Micah grows up, he'll be grateful.
"We really appreciate it and once we go over this later in life, and he sees this, I think he'll really feel special and that's what I want," said Micah's mother, Ashley.
Baby Micah's next surgery is January 14, 2019 at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus.
