LUCAS COUNTY — Crews removed several trees from Oak Openings Metropark.
The hope is that new trees will grow and restore Ohio's natural regions.
The project's been going on the last few months.
Trails were shut down for safety and some were permanently rerouted.
The park is now open.
Timber sales brought in about 70-grand.
We're told all of that money went to pay for removal of the stumps and restore the natural areas.
