Ottawa County experiencing severe flooding following torrential rain
Residents in two Ottawa County communities are waking up to high water.
Ottawa County dispatch tells NBC 24 severe flooding is reported Wednesday in Oak Harbor in the areas of Main Street, Church Street and State Route 19.
The areas of Erie Street and Railroad Streets are also shutdown.
Oak Harbor police say all municipal buildings are open at this time but the ODOT headquarters on Railroad Street is surrounded by water.
Police add no reports of power outages or injuries.
Rainwater reported at the gauge at the waste water plant is nearly 5 inches.
In Port Clinton Ottawa County Auditor Jodi Regal says the Ottawa County Courthouse will be closed until noon Wednesday due to flooding.
The status of the building will be reevaluated at that time.
Port Clinton officials say Perry Street is is also closed between Ash and Maple Streets due to high waters.
