Toledo, Ohio (WNWO) This year's Walk to End Alzheimer's will take place the morning of October 13, rain or shine.

A giant pinwheel was set up in Promenade Park to remind people of the walk.

It's the first of thousands of pinwheels.

Each registered walker gets one. Each color represents your connection to the disease. A purple pinwheel represents someone who lost a loved on to the disease.

"We hope that as people drive down summit Street their reminded of those people and almost all of us are affected by this for those people in their lives who are suffering from dementia and also in honor of those caregivers," Julia Pechlivanos with the Alzheimer's Association.
