The Art Tatum Zone has been approved for two grants from the Greater Toledo Community Foundation's ProMedica Junction Neighborhood Fund.

$100,000 will go toward the organization's "Under One Roof" initiative while $300,000 will support its Workforce Development Continuum.

Under One Roof aims to restore the Art Tatum childhood home next to The Tabernacle throughout the first year of funding. During its second year, the program will assist local families with home repair.

The Workforce Development Continuum offers training opportunities. For high school students, Junior Achievement will help provide academic supports, career readiness and entrepreneurship. For adults, Assets Toledo will spearhead mentorship in entrepreneurial pursuits for the first year, with a focus on trades planned for the second year.

ProMedica's investment in the Junction neighborhood plans to aid 20 projects and 18 organizations in total.
